Alfresco Maddelena, outdoor living spacesSpring is finally here, although in many parts of the country it may not feel like it. We have already completed a few outdoor living spaces for some of our clients with a few more in the works. There are so many great options for outdoor furniture no matter what investment level you are leaning towards. There are also tons of styles, materials, finishes, and colors to choose from as well so your patio can be another extension of your home and reflect your family’s style. Whether you are looking for an outdoor living room lounge type space (which the sectional in the image above would be perfect for) or a more formal sitting area, there is a manufacturer out there with the perfect pieces for you.

Firepits

Alfresco fire pit, outdoor living spacesFire pits and outdoor fireplaces are very popular now. In fact, some like to use them year round no matter what the temperature. Just curl up in a comfy deep seating chair and a blanket and enjoy the fire. Outdoor living spaces are the perfect retreat!

Outdoor Furniture

There are so many great new pieces being introduced every season to help your outdoor furniture set break the mundane stereo type. From rockers to  lounges, you can find them in some pretty contemporary styling or even with a nod to retro design.

Picking your furniture’s material is probably one of the biggest details to keep in mind. How often will you use the items? Do they need to be picked up and rearranged frequently due to get togethers? How long do you want to keep these pieces around? Answering these questions will help determine the best frame material fit for you. Some of the most popular selections are teak, aluminum, wrought iron, and resin wicker. But with almost all of these comes a plethora of finish options and of course then there is your cushion and pillow fabrics to consider as well.

Bring in Pops of Color

Color is easy to introduce to your outdoor space with these fun chairs (and they have so many great colors). Try mixing and matching a few of your favorite colors in the seating, tables, and occasional pieces.

Also consider the elements. Not all “patio” furniture is created equally and some do not hold up to elements as well as others. Not all cushions are rain through, and that is a major point of consideration if your furniture is directly exposed to rainfall. If you live at the coast, some metals will rust easier than others due to the salt water. Teak will fade overtime if it is directly exposed to the sun and rain. Just a few of the many possible outcomes to consider.
