MM Interior Design Group (MMIDG) is the premier, high-end, Interior Design company in central North Carolina since 1989. Our studio is located in Greensboro NC. MMIDG provides both residential and commercial design services. We have received many ASID (American Society of Interior Design) “Excellence in Design Awards”, and many of our Designers are NCIDQ certified.

 

Lead Interior Designer

Job Description

A Lead Interior Designer has the experience, skills, and proven ability to personally and independently manage, all aspects of Residential and Commercial projects, This position reports directly to a Design Director and is supported by our team of Interior Designers.

Duties include:

  • Personally manage a portfolio of client projects.
  • Interface with vendors, contractors, and installers.
  • Develop floorplans, elevations, and detailed drawings on AutoCAD.
  • Create renderings using Sketchup and Enscape.
  • Expertise in Space planning.
  • Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment Selections and Specifications.
  • Client presentations.
  • Create detailed construction packages.
  • Job site visits and interactions with contractors.
  • Oversee final installations.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture, or Interior Design.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to manage and supervise projects independently.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Enscape, and Adobe Suite.
  • Good Organization Skills.
  • Collaborative, team player with a good work ethic.
  • Based at the MMIDG studio in Greensboro NC. 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday.
  • Commitment to a career in Greensboro. We will be investing significant time and effort in training, so we are looking for a long-term relationship.

Job Compensation Package:

  • Hourly Pay, with unlimited OT.
  • Annual Written Review.
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance (expense partially covered).
  • Long Term Disability Insurance (company paid).
  • Paid vacation: 2 weeks (years 1-10); 3 weeks (over 10 years).
  • Paid holidays: 6 National holidays.

Interior Designer

Job Description

An Interior Designer at MMIDG is a design professional who is wanting to expand their growth in the industry. The Interior Designer initially provides direct project support and design collaboration to increase their skills, before being promoted to a Lead Interior Designer with personal responsibility for managing and supervising a portfolio of residential and commercial projects.

Duties include:

  • Support Lead Interior Designers with all aspects of their assigned projects, as needed.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, and installers.
  • Develop floorplans, elevations, and detailed drawings on AutoCAD.
  • Create renderings using Sketchup and Enscape.
  • Space planning.
  • Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment Selections and Specifications.
  • Client meetings and presentations.
  • Job site visits and interactions with contractors.

Interior Designer – Intern Program

Job Description

MMIDG offers Internships during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. The program is designed for college students who are typically Juniors or Seniors, enrolled in a Bachelor degree program for Interior Architecture, or Interior Design. The student will be fully immersed in projects and mentored by MMIDG designers. To receive the greatest benefit, the intern must be skilled in CAD and Sketchup.

Duties include:

  • Hands-on support of Residential & Commercial projects.
  • Drawing floor-plans using AutoCAD.
  • Space planning.
  • Renderings using Sketchup and Enscape.
  • Colors, materials, and finishes selections.
  • Prepare and Assist with Client presentations.
  • Organize client bins and folders.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, and installers.
  • Organize and maintain the samples library.

Job Requirements:

  • Student for Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture, or Interior Design.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Sketchup and Enscape.
  • Collaborative, team player with a good work ethic.
  • Good Organization Skills.
  • Based at our Studio in Greensboro NC.

Student Benefits:

  • Hands on experience, participating in the daily activities of the premier Interior Design firm in central North Carolina. MMIDG is a fast paced, extremely busy business. The Intern will assist on multiple significant projects and will be exposed to a real-life design environment.
  • Learn from a design team with decades of experience (many are NCIDQ certified).
  • Internships are initially unpaid.
  • If the student distinguishes themself, the Internship can quickly transition to a “Part Time Paid” position while they complete their degree.
